NORCREW x The Noria Film

It is undeniable that Chile is a mandatory destination for all bodyboard and surf lovers due to its excellent conditions for these extreme sports, but one city stands out above the rest in an outstanding way, and that city is Iquique. It is undoubtedly one of the world's bodyboarding paradises, recognized by organizations like the IBA—which at one point dubbed it the city of bodyboarding—for the variety and quality of its waves, for the unique fact that all its waves are right next to each other, and for the extremely high level of local riders in all categories.
It is here, specifically at Bulnes beach in the Bellavista sector, where Cristobal Sciaraffia took his first steps in bodyboarding and subsequently in the world of filming and editing, giving rise to "The Noria Film." By bringing together the art inherent in the sport, a strong work ethic, and passion, he manages to express feelings in every shot, capturing unforgettable images and frames.
Over the years, and as a result of the work of The Noria Film and the support of the local community, "Norcrew" emerged—the company's first DVD with a duration of nearly an hour. Named in honor of the riders from the north, its mission was to showcase the level of the world's best bodyboarders at the Arica Chilean Challenge that year and compare it with the surfing level of local exponents. The result was the conclusion that our local bodyboarding had nothing to envy, as it was at the highest level, forming part of a film that achieved harmony between riders of the stature of Jhon Showell, Dave Winchester, Jeff Hubbard, Tamega, Ryan Hardy, among many others, and local talents such as Alexander Wittmann, Eduardo Carpinello, Gabriel Brantes, Cristobal Sciaraffia himself, Mauro Vivanco, and other living legends of Chilean bodyboarding.
Norcrew is a film with a very special meaning for our bodyboarding culture, as it reached riders from various parts of the world, as Mauro Vivanco told us in his interview on Bego’s Chat regarding his experience in the Canary Islands, where the locals were amazed by the quality and level on display.
Undoubtedly, it is one of the favorite films of Chilean bodyboarding greats like Momio Brantes, Wittmann, Fisher, among others. So, if you haven't seen Norcrew yet, here at Erizos Showtime, we are bringing it back to the present—ideal for watching during these times of quarantine to add to your playlist. We guarantee it will leave you with the motivation to surf at 110%, brought to you by The Noria Film and the best exponents of world and local bodyboarding!.
